Working in Pittsburgh as a DJ, promoter, band manager and music journalist, Larry was driven to expand his horizons to NYC because of the rich punk rock scene and the city’s mid-70s sleaze. Pittsburgh Larry very much remains a tourist in town, flashing his rust belt roots while reveling in the music lore of his adopted hometown.
PL is a Big Apple music industry vet of 35 plus years, doing sales and marketing for indie and major labels, hyping bands like Metallica, Iggy Pop, the Dead Boys, Jane’s Addiction and early Guns N’ Roses along the way. Pittsburgh Larry still very much believes in the physical experience, whether it’s vinyl or CD, reading his vast library of rock books or walking you through and sharing his knowledge of New York City music history, all of which he is a hopeless addict of. Broadway Joe has lived a life in NYC, from bartending in Hell’s Kitchen to performing at many of the clubs he will show you on one of his critically acclaimed tours.
